Friends of Stonington Crew

2008 Annual Golf Classic

Sat. October 4th

Please start collecting donations of raffle and

silent auction items for this years Golf Tournament.

If we get a jump on this we will be more successful than ever!

At the Parents Informational meeting it was announced that the Friends of Stonington Crew were the recipients of a New 2008 Vespoli Ultralite racing scull and a full set of Concept 2 oars, from the Estate of Dr. Dorris Hutchison. It was Dr. Hutchison's wish that endowments be made to benefit the advancement of women, so the scull, named in her honor, will be used by the Girls Varsity Team. We are very honored to receive this gift, and thank the trustee for her estate, Tom Sanford for making this gift possible.

But that's not all...the FOSC has purchased a 2005 Resolute Freedom Racing Scull to replace the Josh Piver and the Falco, which were sold this winter. The new scull will be named the Josh Piver, to continue the memory of a SHS graduate who was killed in the September 11th attack on the World Trade Center.

It is the Friends of Stonington Crew's goal to keep the Crew Teams equipment as competitive as possible. Which leads us to emphasize it's time for the:

Annual Appeal

It's not too late to Donate!

We have been able to replace the Piver, with the donations of our supporters. But we still have a ways to go to continue to keep our equipment competitive. Be a part of the new Piver and have your family or Companies name engraved in it by donating:

$250 for a seat or $100 for a foot

If you are interested in donating towards the Annual Appeal, please contact Dave Domnarski.

Regatta Information

At all regattas, we will be serving hot dogs. hamburgers, fruit, bagels, and water at the food tent/tables. Parents who attend are welcome to bring a dessert or side salad for everyone to share. The rowers program fee covers the cost of their food. Families are welcome to partake in our gourmet offerings, but are asked to make a donation. There is a collection jar on the table for that purpose.

Good Luck Bears !
